Ten Full Months while in CA!

While we were on vacation in California... the little spud turned 10 months old, and what a change it was! When we left for our trip, we could tell that the spud had been seriously thinking about crawling.  He had taken a few tentative rocks into movement forward, but while we were in California this kid took off!  He also decided that he wanted to stand up, and totally pulled himself up to a fully standing position!  It was so fun to experience that with my whole family.

We all had such an amazing time.  We spend 4 days in Yosemite where we actually hiked with The Tot.  Then we spent time in my hometown in Northern California and had a blast.  Noodles LOVES California.  At my Dad's house, she has access to the backyard 24/7... and since we live in a NYC apartment, she can't get enough of the outdoors.

Here is The Tot on his 10 month old bday!

Vacation

The Husband and I never really take vacations... We travel some, but we really haven't had the opportunity to take real vacations.  Our very first vacation was our honeymoon, and our second was last weekend.  When we do travel, although we enjoy ourselves, it always revolves around something or someone else.  We travel to California a lot, but that always involves my family, which is wonderful, but I don't consider those true vacations... We also go to Pennsylvania a lot, but again, usually involves the in-laws.  We also do a bit of travel when the husband does his triathlons... but we are both in 'work' mode during those, so although they are enjoyable, they aren't vacation.

So, here we are in the Hamptons, a first for both of us and we are on vacay!  We are in a HUGE home that my wonderfully generous boss rented for the entire summer.  He wasn't going to use it this weekend, so offered it to us.  Here is a run down of how we have decided to use our time:

Sleep
Lay by the pool
Read in the cabana
Run in the grass with Noodles
Lay by the pool again
Nap in the cabana
Eat steamers that were grilled on awesome stainless steel grill
Drink wine
Eat delish dinner of steak grilled on that grill
Late night swim
Sleep

Now THAT is a vacation.

Back from NOLA

This is a shot from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. I am not sure why I like this picture so much, but I do. I like the color of the coffee and the sugar I guess... but it also just reminds me of how nice our trip was overall. It rained every night and in fact was quite stormy, and it was chilly, and people on Bourbon street are stupid, but we just enjoyed being around eachother, which I guess is the sign of a great vacation.

Since coming back form NOLA I have decided that I am really going to try to keep writing on this blog.... I really feel like I am sinking into a non-creative life style now that I am not actively acting or singing, and I really need to find other ways to express myself... so here you go blog world!
